YOU CAN #EMPOWER THE FUTURES OF OUR YOUTH

THE FUTURE AND PRESENT OF SOCIAL JUSTICE IS YOU | A POEM

This summer, the Youth Council has been working tirelessly on bridging the digital divide and focussing on connectivity issues in the City of Cleveland by implementing policy, social policy, and awareness campaigns to help get broadband access and e-learning devices for all Cleveland youth. Many students are falling behind in school, losing potential job opportunities, lacking the resources needed to access mental health services, and becoming unable to attend crucial social engagements because they do not have broadband internet access.

However, the digital divide issue is not the only overwhelming problem. The COVID-19 pandemic is disproportionately affecting the youth and families we serve, therefore we have decided that a majority of the funding raised during the #EMPOWER Day of Giving fundraiser on July 24th will be donated directly to our youth and the remaining money that is raised will go towards funds that will help with the implementation of their campaigns.

Your donation will go towards:

  • The EYEJ Youth Council stipends as an appreciation for the hard work they have been doing this summer
  • Technical and policy support for the youth council’s work this summer
