EYEJ’s discussion series focuses on informing students about the power of education. However, another important part of the mission involves building relationships with students. By developing these connections, EYEJ is helping students grow in a strength-based learning environment.¬†

EYEJ definitely focuses on preparing students to grow into future leaders. Part of that focus involves showing the students that they are surrounded by a caring network of diverse people. While we do have a strong network of board members and volunteers at EYEJ, we also recognize we need feedback from the people we serve.

We want to make sure the students’ voices are heard and respected. As Dr. Lori Desautels¬†mentions in her article, “When we invite students to help us develop rules, procedures, and transitions, everyone is invested.” To borrow the Cavaliers’ slogan, we are “All In” for Cleveland students. We always want our actions to reflect this commitment, and will continue to work to achieve this goal!
